Evaluation of Malaria Case-Based Reporting using a mobile phone application in Myanmar

Assessing the effectiveness of the Malaria Case-Based Reporting (MCBR) mobile phone application compared to the Paper-Based Reporting (PBR) system for the reporting of malaria cases in Myanmar: a mixed methods evaluation study.

Aims and objectives:

The overall aim of this research is to evaluate the quality, effectiveness and applicability of a mobile phone-based application, the malaria case base reporting tool (MCBR) tool compared to the standard paper-based reporting system (PBR) in order to inform whether MCBR should replace PBR for malaria surveillance in Myanmar.

Strengthening the malaria surveillance system in Myanmar will allow more efficient and targeted allocation of resources to help interrupt transmission and achieve total malaria elimination.
