Studies in human malaria; attempts to influence relapsing vivax malaria by treatment of patients with vaccine (Pl. vivax).
Almost 200 volunteer patients suffering from chronic relapsing vivax malaria were divided into three series. One group received routine therapy for relapses; a second group received injections of formalinized human red cell stromata containing Pl. vivax in varying degrees of concentration; a third group was injected with normal human red cell stromata. The relapse rates in the three groups were the same.
