Safety, tolerability and pilot efficacy of short course, high dose primaquine treatment for liver stages of Plasmodium vivax infection

Aims and objectives

Primary objective:

• assess the safety and tolerability of short course, high dose primaquine treatment in children.

Secondary objectives:

• assess the pharmacokinetics of primaquine in children after high oral doses;
• determine the efficacy of short course high dose primaquine compared to the standard 14 day treatment.
